CMS Stargate?

As we have a lot of public visits to CERN and our experiment every day, we are sometimes getting the funniest questions. The CMS is made up of some giant rings that will work at the return yoke for the superconduting solenoid magnet on order to bend the electric charged particles. However one of the visitors has supposedly asked the question „How can we be sure you are not building a stargate?“ I almost crack up when I heard this story, but is the question so stupid?
If you take a look at the photo I have superimposed a photo of CMS (red) and the wormhole stargate from the movie, and I can se why the person asked the questionJ. If some of you have read S. Hawkins book a brief history of time you will know what a wormhole is (good book).
